A farm tractor trader is probably a real useful guy to know if you are in the farming business. Even if you buy and sell tractors for a living or deal in other farm machinery you will have had some dealings with a farm tractor trader. Obviously these guys are middle men who buy at one price and sell on to farmers at a profit.

Whilst it may be beneficial to purchase farm machinery in this way there could be some pitfalls to it as well. Unless you deal with a reputable farm equipment dealership it is most unlikely that you will benefit from any kind of after sales service. In other words, you spends your money and takes your chances when dealing with a farm tractor trader.

Some of these guys won't even have premises and they may even be selling on a sale or return basis. In other words the equipment may not even belong to them at the point of sale and you will be relying upon the farm tractor trader to settle up with the original owner on completion of the deal. It's always a good idea to inspect the relevant paperwork too in any dealings that you may have with a farm tractor trader.
